Under the leadership of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, USAID has halted its operations across the world and will instead fund crypto wallets using PauperCoin for people living below the poverty line.
USAID is the largest contributor to global humanitarian aid programmes, yet Musk believes that his tax money would be better spent on a scheme that he ultimately controls, which he stated was purely for efficiency reasons.
“It’s hilarious actually, there are literally millions of children dying in hospitals and they don’t even have access to crypto wallets.”
The Scrolletariat pressed Musk on his vision for how PauperCoin could address multi-dimensional poverty across the globe.
“Imagine a future where the kid who lost a leg after being conscripted into some local turf war could instead crypto trade his way out of his flea infested USAID hospital bed. He could buy a camera and go on to being a jet-setting influencer, while posting viral glow-ups on X of his PauperCoin funded prosthetic leg.”
Trump also chimed into the conversation on Truth Social,
“Musk dropping TRUTH BOMBS on the crooked system that keeps people poor. Communism didn’t, doesn’t, will never work. If you want to get rich kids, take advice from the world’s richest. Turning paupers into PIMPERS at MAGA HQ!”
The specific mechanism that DOGE will use to assess funding requests for humanitarian aid is yet to be finalised. However, a pilot-trial for access to Malaria medication has mimicked a “GoFundMe” model, whereby aid recipients state their case on X and receive funding that is proportional to user engagement. DOGE is optimistic this approach will provide a far more efficient model for aid delivery, noting requests for Malaria medication in the trial have significantly decreased.
